What is Data Compression ?
Data Compression means encoding,modifying,converting the bits of data in such a way that it could occupy less storage . Compression minimizes the size of any File [Data] than its original size .It something meant by compressing the file size of any file.
It helps the user to send or transfer any data fastly as it reduce it's size by compressing it.
Data Compression is also known as Source coding or Bit-rate reduction.
Data Compression has wide implementation in the Computing services.
Compression and Extension -
When a data is compressed then it is obvious that its file extension name will also change.Data Compression has a collection of some file extension like (.zip , .rar)If a Data has been Compressed and it was file with Extension .ppt , .mp4 , .txt ,etc. it's Extension name become .zip , .rar after compression.Data can be compressed by using various application either in your computer or smartphone.
What is Data Compression (in simple language )
If you have a Movie🎬 of file size 3GB and your friend demanded that movie but it takes more time to transfer .
And think if size of that Movie becomes 1GB , then What happens ?
Offcourse , the Movie will take less time to transfer on your friend's computer.
Compression do this only , it reduces the file size so it can become quickly transferable.
This only becomes simple because of data compression.
