What is ROM [Read Only Memory] ?

ROM [Read Only Memory ] :-
ROM is a type of electronic memory present on the motherboard of the computer and interacts directly with the CPU. This is a permanent or non volatile in nature. Contents of this memory chip remain unchanged even if the power supply is switched off. Generally the start up instruction which control the working of computer in the beginning , are stored in it. The instructions once stored in it , cannot be modified or removed but can only be read by the system to complete the startup operations.Read Only Memory , as the name suggests it Stores those types of things that are read by System and are needed to start the system.Read Only Memory can also be called as a Internal Storage device that is used to store data into it. It does not store data as of RAM but it stores the data Permanently. As mentioned above data that are stores into it can only be read by the system they cannot be modified or removed.
